From the Luton Times and Advertiser Friday 26 October 1906; “Owing to the removal of several prominent players from the neighbourhood the affairs of the Aspley Guise Golf Club have been wound up. There was a considerable balance in hand and this, together with the sum realised from the sale of the club’s property, has been distributed amongst various institutions in Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands.”

The later nine-hole course was laid out by Alex Herd and opened in May 1914. The course was extended to eighteen-holes in 1974.
