Tewkesbury Golf Club, Shuthonger Course, Gloucestershire. (1892 - 1926)

Following is the first record of a club from the Tewkesbury Register and Gazette October 1892. "GOLF - This game appears to have become so popular that we are not surprised that a club is to be established in Tewkesbury. Steps are being made to make Shuthonger  Common a suitable ground for operations. The assistance from David Evans, the professional from the Malvern club, has been called in, and he, with the assistance of Mr S C Healing has marked out a very good nine-hole course. It is intended at once to commence getting the green in order so that play may commence without delay."
