It was reported in February 1910 that due to falling membership the future of the club was in doubt. However, it was decided at the annual meeting that the club should continue. It was hoped that more local people would support the club in the current difficult times. On “the other side of the Hill” the Stinchcombe Hill and Dursley (now defunct) clubs were doing well.

Below is the announcement of the autumn meeting in 1913.

Wotton-under-Edge Golf Club, Gloucestershire. Announcement of the autumn meeting in 1913.

From the Clifton Society Thursday 9th October 1913.

In 1913/4 the secretary was C Bury. There was a membership of 45. Entry fee was 10/6 and subs £1/1/0. Family membership was £2/2/0. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a day and 10/- a month. The station at Charfield (MR) was 2 miles away.

The spring meeting was held in April 1914 on the Bradley Green course. The competitions were arranged by Mrs Tapscott. It was reported that the course was in excellent condition “and it was considered that the new green was a great improvement.” This suggests that the club had either changed location, or, the original course had undergone changes. The gentlemen’s competition was won by the Rev T D Jones, Wotton, R Cross was runner-up. Mrs Williams of Wotton won the ladies’ handicap with Mrs J Warn of Tetbury second. The mixed foursome was won by Rev T D Jones and Mrs Williams.

Wotton-under-Edge Golf Club disappeared after WW1.
