Ingleton Golf Club. (1890s)

It was reported in the Westmoreland Gazette in April 1898 that a meeting was held at Beezley Grange with the object of forming a golf club for Ingleton. Those present were unanimously in favour of a club being formed and the following officers were elected; President, Rev J A Burrow; chairman of committee, Rev J Turner; secretary, Mr L C Marquand; treasurer, Mr R Atkinson; curator, Mr W Atkinson. A committee was also elected. It was decided to take the land at the top of  Storrs Common, and work was to commence on the laying out of the course immediately.
