Whitewebbs Park Golf Course, Enfield. (1932 - 2021)

The 18-hole public golf course was designed by J H Taylor in 1932.

Originally known as Enfield Municipal Golf Club, Whitewebbs Park, Enfield.

Whitwebbs Golf Club appears following WW2. This club played over the Enfield Municipal golf course.

It was eventually became known as Whitewebbs Park Golf Course.

The council closed the course in 2021.

In 2022 Tottenham Hotspur Golf Club were selected by Enfield Council to regenerate the Whitewebbs site.

From the Daily Herald Friday 15 July 1932; “Municipal Golf – Enfield’s new municipal golf course at Whitewebbs Park, will be opened on July 23 by Lord Beatty and an exhibition match will be played by J H Taylor and Charles A Whitcombe.” The match was won by Whitcombe by three and two. Whitcombe had a score of 68, and Taylor 71.

Below is a picture of A C Barnes, assistant at Whitewebbs, who scored a 67 (six below bogey) in a competition at Wyke Green in January 1939.

In 1940 the secretary was the Chief Supt of Parks, Enfield UDC, London. 18-holes with a SSS and Par of 70. Professional course record still held by R Wilson junior with a new score of 61. Station at Gordon Hill (LNER) was 1 mile away.
