Carrickmacross Golf Club, Co. Monaghan.
First appeared just prior to WW1 and was still listed in the late 1950s; although it’s probable that the club had closed prior to this. The secretary throughout was C Lonergan, telephone 9 and the greenkeeper J Kelly. 9 hole parkland course with a membership of 40. Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a day and Sunday play was allowed. The railway station at Carrickmacross was 2 miles away. Local hotels were the Shirley Arms and O’Neills.
