Balla Golf Club, County Mayo. (1922 - 1925)

The club first appeared in 1922. At this time it was stated that the club had just 15 “enthusiastic members” They had recently won the County Mayo team Challenge Trophy.

The Irish Field in October 1923 reported “At Balla, County Mayo, is the most sporting golf community in the world.”

Unfortunately it had a short life, it was reported in 1925 that the club had lost its course.

Attempts were made to raise money to re-establish the course but it seems they proved unsuccessful.
