Orbost Golf Club, Dunvegan, Isle Of Skye. (1930s)
The original club was founded in 1900 as Dunvegan Golf Club. See separate entry on this website for the history of the Dunvegan Golf Club
There was a brief appearance in the mid 1930/40s for Orbost Golf Club which had its own course.
The secretary was J S Porteous, Orbost Hotel. A 9-hole course, 2,448 yards, SSS 66. Visitors’ fees were 1/- a round.
Below is the Orbost Hotel, proprietor J Porteous. The original house was transformed into a Regency mansion. In the 1930s it became a hotel. Nowadays it’s a private residence.
