Lagganmore Golf Club, Dumfries & Galloway. (2000 - 2015)

Founded in 2000 Lagganmore Hotel & Golf Club was an 18-hole, par 69, 5698 yard, private, moorland golf course. The golf course had a superb elevated position overlooking Dunskey Castle and the North Channel. The 502 yard seventh hole was regarded by some as the best par 5 in the area.

Alan McPherson is playing all of Scotland’s golf course to raise funds for Cancer Research; Alan played the Lagganmore course in 2012. His impressive scorecard is above (apologies for the quality.) Please click on the link below for Alan's report on the course.

The course was eventually reduced to nine-holes. The club and course closed in 2014/15.

Thanks to Dr. Douglas Lockhart for providing the images below and the following information. The pictures were taken on 29 October 2019. Cattle on the course; a real lack of definition to the golfing landscape; two tee boxes found at tees: 7 and 9 but were these in their correct position? The Hotel is closed although the sign remains at the main road (A 77). I found a green with a burn and bridge but there may be more than one.

The double-sided sign at the junction with the A77 to Portpatrick is still there 5 years after closure.
