The first professional at the club was Syd Ball.

George Gadd was professional at the Stansty course until 1914. He must have arrived at Wrexham between late 1912 and early 1913 as he was still at Caernarfon when he played in the 1912 News of the World tournament at Sunningdale. George Gadd, as well as being a respected teacher, made many improvements and alterations to the Stansty course. His playing career was also prospering. In August 1913 he won the Welsh Professional Championship at Chester (Sealand), he represented Wales in the Sunningdale Foursomes and was seventh after the first round of The Open Championship at Prestwick in 1914. Following his demob in 1918 he became professional at Roehampton Golf Club.

There were earlier Wrexham courses at Gresford and Gwersyllt (see separate entries for these clubs)

The Google Map below pinpoints the location of the former Stansty course.
