Taplow Golf Club, Barge Farm Course, Bucks. (1890s)
Originally known as Riverside Golf Club.
It was reported in October 1892 that the Taplow Golf Club links are now open weekdays and Sundays.
The later club was founded in February 1893 with a course on Barge Farm.
In 1893 the professional was W Smith.
Tom Dunn lays out the course in 1893.
From "Golf" Friday 10 February 1893; "An interesting match was played on the 6th between the Taplow Golf Club professional, Archie Dickson, and Lambert from Tooting Bec. Dickson won with a record for these links of 85, but Lambert's was a fine score (89), as it was the first time he had seen the course, and it was very foggy. The scores were; Dickson - 5,4,6,4,5,4,5,4,5,4,5,4,5,5,6,4,4,6=85; Lambert - 6,4,5,4,5,5,5,3,5,6,6,3,6,6,5,6,4,5=89."

From the Gentlewoman Saturday 20 January 1894 - "There is a new club opening at Taplow which will include a ladies' course".

On Saturday 26th October 1895 the monthly medal was won by A E Davis, 105- 15-90.
In December 1895 the monthly medal was won by F J Leslie, 101-10-91.
