Cambridge Golf Club, Longstanton. (1991 - 2013)

The club was founded in 1991.  In 1992 the Cambridge Golf Club played on a nine-hole course designed by G Huggett who was also club professional. There was also a floodlit driving range.

In 1995 Mr Ken Green became the proprietor and in 1997 a further nine-holes were added. The new 18-hole course measured 6,818, yards which was one of the longest in the county. The 18-hole parkland course was designed with two loops of nine. Hazards consisted of ponds, ditches and lakes. With the approval of the owner the Cambridge Members' Golf Club was formed. They looked after handicaps, club competitions and arranged inter-club matches.

The course had been losing money and the owner reluctantly decided to sell. The club closed on the 30th June 2013.

The manager of the Longstanton club, Colin Chapman, along with the other members of staff, were given nine days notice of the closure.
