New Malton Golf Club, Meldreth, Royston. (1993 - 2014)
The course opened in 1993; designed by Bruce Critchley.
It was a challenging 18-hole par 71 course varying in length from 6,635 to 6,708 yards and set in 230 acres of gently undulating countryside. The tees and greens were constructed to USGA specifications with extensive drainage and irrigations of all fairways, greens and tees.
The Cambridgeshire club claimed to be the only one in Europe not to use chemicals on its course. The owners of New Malton Golf Club also employed their own ecologist and used spray sugars and carbohydrates instead of fertilisers and pesticides.
The Club was listed in the 2012 - 2014 Golfer's Handbook; Founded 1993; Professional, Brian Mudge.
Due to falling membership and spiralling costs the course gradually deteriorated and the club closed in October 2014.
