Clacton-on Sea Golf Club, Essex. (1892 - 1896)
The first nine-hole course appeared in 1892 and was located two minutes from the Towers Hotel.
Due to housing developments in the 1890s the club needed to find land for a new course.
The club moved to its current location 1896.

From the Essex Standard Saturday 25 March 1893; “The club is steadily increasing in numbers and is likely to have a large addition shortly. The first quarterly meeting takes place next month. There will be competitions for the monthly medal. Several prizes are offered, and it is expected there will be a good display.”

In May 1896 the club played the Whitsuntide Competitions on the new course at Alton Park Marshes.
