From the Coalville Times Friday 9 November 1934 - "Good progress is being made by the Holms Golf Club at Hugglescote, which now has 160 members. Improvements are to be made to the nine-hole course are to be carried out. The number of holes will remain the same, but the length will be increased to something over 2,500 yards."

In August 1935 the clubhouse was broken into and four bottles of whisky, port and gin, a large quantity of cigarettes, biscuits and crisps were stolen. 

In September 1935 a competition among the lady members for a rose bowl  given by Dr Parker was won by Miss Olive Deacon.

The annual meeting in May 1936 was held in the Hugglescote National School when the following officers were elected ; President; J W Farmer; Captain; Dr C S Parker; Vice-captain, F Sanderson; Ladies' captain; Mrs Wilfred Smith; Committee; Mrs Colver, Mrs Cawston, Mrs Smith, Miss Clay; Messrs., E Lees, E Moss, W H Cawston, J Griffin, J T Sales, T W Gray, J T Pepper and Dr Hamilton. 

Playing in a mixed foursome in June 1936 Mrs F H Blunt holed in one at the 170 yard third hole. Mrs Blunt was partnered by the president J W Farmer, and they went on to win the competition. Result of the Elverstone Cup also played in May 1936; D Choyce, 85-19-66; R M Hunt, 94-24-70; J W Farmer, 96-24-72; B Greenwood, 95-22-73.

In the final of the 36-hole Hale Cup competition in October 1936 G Cooke defeated W H Cawston by 5 and 3. Over 50 members took part in the  competition.

At the annual meeting in 1937 Cliff Price resigned as secretary  of the club due to business duties taking him out of the district. F H Blunt was appointed in his place. J W Farmer was re-elected president; F Sanderson was elected captain; Vice-captain, W H Cawston.

The chief event for the ladies' section was the Parker Bowl. In 1937 final was played in October and resulted in a win for Mrs W Smith who defeated Mrs F H Blunt by 1up.

In November 1937 Ernest Smith, who had been green-keeper at Willesley Park Golf Club for several years, was appointed professional and green-keeper to the Holms Golf Club.

In the final of the Hale Cup in November 1937 J Clarke defeated P Ward by 4 and 3.

Entry from the Golfer's Handbook from 1938 to 1949 the secretary was F H Blunt, 99 Forrest Rd, Coalville. The professional and green-keeper was R W Simons and W E Smith.  A 9-hole course with a membership of 160. The SSS was 70 with a Par of 72. The professional course record was held by R W Simons with a score of 65. Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a round. Sunday Play was allowed and the club was licensed. The station at Bardon Hill was ¼ mile away.

It was reported in January 1941 that due to the present situation the Holms Golf Club had to be disbanded for the time being.
