Croft Golf Club, Leicestershire. (1925 - WW2)

First appeared in 1925, when the secretary was S Everett, Harborough House, Blaby, telephone number Wigston 79. The professional was J Minchin. A 9-hole course. Visitors’ fees were 2/- a day, weekends 2/6 a day.

In 1931/2 the secretary was S Everett, and the green-keeper W S Gillingham. Membership of 105. Fees as 1925, 3 shillings for Sunday.

In 1940 and 1947 the secretary at Croft Golf Club, Telephone Sutton Elms 264 was H Clark, 25 Westhill Road, Leicester, telephone Leicester 88392. The professional was E Allen. The 9-hole course had a SSS of 70 and a membership of 100.Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a day, Sundays 2/6. The station at Croft was 5 minutes away. Buses from Leicester passed the clubhouse.
