Woodhall Spa Golf Club, Lincolnshire. (1890 - 1903)
The club was founded in 1890.
Sometimes called Woodhall Spa and District Golf Club.
The club had two nine-hole courses prior to the move to its present location in 1903.
The following report is from the Stamford Mercury Friday 22 August 1890. “WOODHALL SPA GOLF – This favourite Scotch game has been introduced at Wodhall during the past week. The links, which are all that could be desired, are situated in Mr Copping’s large field on the Tattershall Road. To Dr. Williams, the medical superintendent at the Spa, must be attributed the credit of introducing golf.”

The above first nine-hole course continued until 1895 when the land was taken over for building purposes.
Another 9-hole course was laid out on the Stixwould Road.

In June 1897 a complaint was made by E W Stokoe, hon. secretary, to the Sanitary Committee of the District Council to the effect that the stream crossing the golf links from Stixwould Road was fouled by sewage being discharged into it. The Council where to take steps to prevent the pollution.
On Saturday 14 August 1897 a match was played between Woodhall Spa Residents and Visitors, resulting in a win for the club. T P Stokoe beat the record for nine-holes scoring 39.

In August 1900 Councillor Frank P Curtis won the competition for the silver medal.
It was reported in January 1902 that the club was to charge an entrance fee of £1 to new members with a yearly subscription of £1. The course was to be considerably altered.

Towards the end of 1902 the club where finding it difficult to get agreement with the landlord on lease renewal. The club would need to find a new home.
