Mansfield Golf Club, Ravensdale Course. (1895 - 1911)
Founded 1895 with a course on Ravensdale Fields, the area is now a housing estate.

The competition for the winners of medal competitions for the last six months was played on the Ravensdale links in April 1899. The winner was W J Need, 86 net; runner-up, G Wright, 87 net.
On Saturday 22nd October 1904 the preliminary round of the Mayor of Mansfield’s Challenge Cup took place over the Ravensdale Golf Club’s links. The first eight players qualify for the subsequent rounds. Result as follows; S Davidson, 85-12-73; W F Jolly, 96-21-75; A S Buxton, 85-8-77; W H Robinson, 93-15-78; E B Hibbert, 104-25-79; C J Clements, 105-23-82; H Royce, 104-21-83; A L Gregg, 104-21-83; J E Alcock, 106-21-85; G Wright, 104-15-89; C E Stacey, 103,12-91; W J Alcock, 116-23-93.

The course is on pasture land. The chief hazards are gorse, hedges and ravines. Hotels -"Swan" and "Midland."
In September 1905 the Mansfield Golf Club travelled to Bulwell to play the Bulwell Artisans Club.

In 1911 the Mansfield Golf Club disappears and Sherwood Forest Golf Club at Eakring Road comes into being.
