From the 1898-99 Golfing Annual; “Plumtree Golf Club – Instituted 1892. The course, of nine-holes, is at Plumtree, a village a few miles from Nottingham.”

Plumtree Golf Club was the forerunner to the Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club. In 1956 Stanton-on-the-Wolds celebrated its Golden Jubilee and the report below sheds some light on the earlier Plumtree Golf Club.
