First appeared in the late 1920s when the address was Hillyfields Golf Club, 5 Old Church Road, Harborne, Birmingham. The secretary was J Barnsley-Smith, telephone numbers Walsall 1069 and Central Birmingham 1725. A 9-hole course the professional was T Thomas and the green-keeper G Rumbold. Sunday play was allowed. The station at Harborne was 1 mile away.

In the mid 1930s the secretary was J Rigby-Wilson the professional T Thomas and the green-keeper C Clements.
