Berkeley Golf Course, Boars Hill, Oxford. (1900s – 1928)
Foxcombe Hall, Boars Hill, was the former home of Lord Berkeley. He had a nine-hole course laid out on Boars Hill in the early 20th Century.
Boars Hill has an outstanding view of Oxford and it was feared that the land would be developed once the golf course had disappeared. When the course closed it was taken over by The Oxford Preservation Trust in 1928 and the unspoilt area can still be enjoyed today.
Below are a couple of mentions of the course.

There are various golf terrain features all over the area, but the most obvious and complete is the green at the top of the hill, with a tiered approach up the hill from the left hand side of the image. If you look closely a row of three bunkers can be seen this side of the green.
