Reference for this club is taken from the “Golfers’ Guide” issued by The Great Northern Railway Company in 1912. It states “Basford (North Staffs) The Basford Golf Club’s nine hole course runs over Basford, with trees, hurdles and rough grass forming the chief hazards. It is situated about ¾ mile from Etruria Station”
