Spennymoor Golf Club, Kirk Merrington, Ferryhill, Durham.

First appeared in the late 1920s.

A 9-hole course with a par of 72 situated on Binchester Moor, Merrington. Club membership of between 120 and 150. The railway station at Spennymoor was 1 mile away. Visitors fees were 1/6 a day, 7/- a week and £1 a month. Sunday play was allowed. Local hotel was the Wheatsheaf.

From1940 to the mid 1950s the amateur course record holder was G A C Hall 73.
