In 1923 the secretary was J G Hall, Bank of Liverpool & Martins Ltd, Spennymoor, County Durham telephone 34. The green-keeper was M Aisbett. A 9-hole course with a membership of 115. Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a day, 3/- a week, 5/- a fortnight and 7/6 a month. The station at Spennymoor was 1 mile away.
From 1925 to the disappearance of Whitworth Park in 1928 the secretary was E Preston, 20 Carlton Terrace, Spennymoor. The professional and green-keeper was T H Dowson. Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a day, 2/- on Sunday, 7/6 a fortnight and 10/6 a month. Local hotel, the Wheatsheaf.
Interesting to note, the Whitworth Park club finished just as Spennymoor Golf Club started.
