Haltwhistle Golf Club, Birchfieldgate Farm. (1924 - WW2)
The club and course opened in 1924.
The nine-hole course at Bridgegate Farm was formally opened by the popular actress, Miss Violet Loraine (Mrs E R Joicey.) who drove the first ball.
Colonel Edward Joicey tees up the ball for his wife to hit the opening shot.

The first qualifying competition for the club medal was played in June 1924. There were 15 competitors and following are the best net scores; Gentlemen; N H Birkett, 83; A Hastewell, 84; A Keenlyside, 86; W Scott, 90; Ladies; Miss R Birkett, 99; Miss Watson, 107.
