Woodseats Municipal Golf Club, Millhouses, Sheffield. (1914 – 1920)
The first Municipal Golf Course to be opened in Sheffield.
Unfortunately the club and nine-hole course was short lived due to the outbreak of WW1. The course was eventually turned over for food production, allotments and hay making during the war.
There was hope of a revival for the Woodseats course following the war unfortunately this never came to fruition.
Below is a report on the opening of the course on Monday 4 May 1914.
An unusual Local Rule for the Woodseats Golf Club.
Report on the annual meeting in January 1916.
The Woodseats club and course disappeared following WW1.
In 1920 the current municipal course at Tinsley Park was opened.
