The club moved to its present location at Sunderlandswick in 1934.

From the Leeds Mercury Tuesday 18 March 1924 – “DRIFFIELD – Golf Club Formed. A largely attended meeting of Driffield townspeople decided last night to form a golf club for the town. Ninety ladies and gentlemen agreed to become members. A course has been secured.”

The new course was opened on Saturday 2 May 1924, in the presence of a large number of members. W H Blakenton (captain) presided at the brief ceremony, and read a letter from Mr Bryan Boynes, of King’s Mill House, Driffield (the president), regretting his inability to be present.

In May 1929 Miss Dorothy Dossor, 96-18-78 and Mr W Lewsey, 88-13-75 won the golf trophies presented by the British Legion. The runners-up were Miss H W Rennison and Mr C Hordern.
In August 1930 the winner of the President’s Bowl competition was C Hordern who beat J W Mahew by 2 and 1.
At the annual meeting in February 1931 it was decided to raise the subscription fee from £2/2s to £2/12s per annum due to a financial loss in 1930. The extra expenditure was caused by improvements to the course and clubhouse. Mr Bryan Boyes was re-elected president; J W Mahew, hon. secretary; J R Reed, captain in place of R W Dossor.
The following officers were elected at the annual meeting in March 1932; President, William Wilberfoss; vice-president, Bryan Boyes; captain, H J Taylor; secretary, Norman Glover; treasurer, W Coates; committee – W Coates, T B Glover, H Taylor, D Byass, Dr. Milligan and Mrs Rennison.

The Ordnance Survey Map below shows the location of the earlier golf course and clubhouse.
It was reported in March 1933 that the owner of the course had vetoed Sunday play. The members of the club were bound by the terms of the lease to confine play within the six weekdays.
