Silsden Golf Club, Keighley. (1913 – 2020)
The club seemed to lead a sheltered existence with hardly any mention in newspaper reports.
The impact of lockdown pushed many golf clubs to the brink of closure.
Unfortunately the effect of Covid had a more devastating outcome for Silsden and the club closed down in 2020.
It was reported in May 1917 that Second Lieutenant Arthur Driver, West Riding Regiment, was admitted to hospital with a bomb wound to the right knee. He was a member of the Silsden Golf Club.
