Coley Lane Golf Club, Brampton, Rotherham. (1930 - 1950s)
The club first appeared in 1930.
Nine-hole picturesque course measuring 4,797 yards with a SSS of 70.
It was reported in Mach 1930 that "The newly formed Coley Lane Golf Club had a very successful dance in the Welfare Hall, Brampton, about 120 were present."
Competition played in July 1932.

In September 1934 J C Bullivant, the Wentworth professional, played in a professional versus amateur match at Sandygate.

The winner of the monthly bogey in August 1935 was H G Richards, 3up.
It was reported in the Sheffield Independent in October 1935 that "Coley Lane Golf Club were admitted to membership of the Sheffield Union of Golf Clubs."
In 1935 the secretary was W V Long, 1 Knapton Avenue, Rawmarsh. The professional and green-keeper was J C Bullivant. It was listed as a 9-hole course with a club membership of 120. Visitors’ fees were; 1/- a round and Sunday play was allowed. The station at Rotherham was 5 miles away.
In the 36-hole final of the ladies' captain's cup in September 1935 Mrs D I Greenwood defeated Miss W Jackson 6 and 5.

From 1940 to its closure in the mid 1950s the secretary was still W V Long, the professional and green-keeper was now J E Rhodes. Visitors’ fees were now 1/6 a day. There was now a station at Wath-on-Dearne 2 miles away.
Although the club continued to be listed in the Golfer's Handbook into the 1950s it was repetitive entry. The club probably disappeared at the time of WW2.
