Lawton Golf Club, Church Lawton. (WW1 - 1920s)
Lawton Golf Club was probably attached to the Lawton Hall Hydro and was in existence prior to, and following WW1.
Many newspapers carried the following advert; "Lawton Hall Hydro - Lawton. Historic Mansion. Excellent Cooking. Own farm and garden produce. Beautiful grounds and Golf Links." The golf course continued to be advertised in the 1920s.
I would like to thank Dixon Pickup for the image below and for the following information. " The Button is hall marked Birmingham 1906 by David George Collins, very large, 30mm. The applied centre section is also struck with the lion passant. I assume they may have had a variable centre for the ladies."
