Dalton-in-Furness Golf Club, Cumbria. (1898 - 1930s)
The club was instituted in 1898. It continued into the 1930s.

From the 1905 Nisbet's Golf Yearbook; Instituted 1898; Membership 50; Station at Dalton 15 minutes; Hon. secretary - R Blake, Garden Lea, Dalton-in-Furness; Captain, Capt. F Abbott; Entrance fee 12s/6d, Ladies 7s/6d; Subs 12s/6d. Ladies7s/6d; Nine-holes; Visitors' fees, 1 shilling a day, 2s/6d a week. The course is well situated on high ground. It is of most sporting character, as it rejoices in several mountainous hazards.

In 1911 the secretary was R Blake, Garden Lea, Dalton. Mr Blake was a printer, bookbinder/stationer, music dealer, picture frame maker, toy and fancy goods dealer and (finally!) an emigration agent. His shop was at 99 Market Street.
