Dalton-in-Furness Golf Club, Cumbria. (1898 - 1930s)
The club was instituted in 1898. It continued into the 1930s.
Report on a new golf course at High Field in September 1904.

From the 1905 Nisbet's Golf Yearbook; Instituted 1898; Membership 50; Station at Dalton 15 minutes; Hon. secretary - R Blake, Garden Lea, Dalton-in-Furness; Captain, Capt. F Abbott; Entrance fee 12s/6d, Ladies 7s/6d; Subs 12s/6d. Ladies7s/6d; Nine-holes; Visitors' fees, 1 shilling a day, 2s/6d a week. The course is well situated on high ground. It is of most sporting character, as it rejoices in several mountainous hazards.

Result of the cup competition played in December 1908 in a gale which resulted in erratic play; G R Hartley, 104-10-94; R Blake, 113-14-99; J M Lambert, 114-14-100.
In 1911 the secretary was R Blake, Garden Lea, Dalton. Mr Blake was a printer, bookbinder/stationer, music dealer, picture frame maker, toy and fancy goods dealer and (finally!) an emigration agent. His shop was at 99 Market Street.
