Eccleston Park Golf Club, Rainhill, Prescot. (1999 – 2018)
Eccleston Park Golf Club was established in 1999 on the old Rainhill Hospital Farm site. The parkland layout was revised in 2007 with more undulations being an added feature. The Clubhouse was also renovated and extended in 2006 around the original farmhouse.
The later par 72 golf course measured 6483 yards from the back tees and offered a great variety of golf holes.
The Following statement was issued by the club. “Trading through the first half of 2018 has been increasingly challenging, impacted by the extreme weather and also a significant decline in membership and continued uncertainty.”
The club closed on 30 June 2018.
It was reported in May 2020 that there were plans to develop the former course for housing.
