From the 1998 Golfer’s Guide; 18-hole parkland course measuring 4,882 yards with a SSS of 68. Visitors’ fees - £6 weekdays, £7 weekends.
Thanks to Richard Anderson who informed us of the closure and provided the following information in April 2020 – “A nine hole course on a south-facing slope west of Reading between Calcot and the M4 which was managed by Pincents Manor Hotel. I played the course in either autumn 1999 or spring 2000 at which time it appeared on the point of being abandoned, with rough-length fairways, although at least two other groups were fighting their way around while I was playing. I was given a scorecard at the hotel reception which regrettably hasn't survived. The hotel itself closed in the autumn of 2018. However, the golf course had not been maintained for well over a decade before then.
The area has since become the proposed site of controversial housing developments. I remember the first hole was a short uphill par 4”.
