Broke Hill Golf Club, Halstead. (1993 - 2017)
Founded in 1993.
Broke Hill Golf Club near Orpington, was ideally situated just 2 miles off the M25 (junction 4) in Kent.
The eighteen-hole course, designed by D Williams, was originally built in 1993 by the Rolstone family in rolling Kent countryside, and featured 90 strategically placed hazards over the 6509 yard course that tested all levels of golfer. With water coming in to play on four holes and the sometimes strong prevailing wind protecting the parkland course, it made some of the simplest looking holes very treacherous.
The clubhouse provided a balcony overlooking the 18th green.
Report on the club and course from January 1993.
In the 1990/2000s the professional was Chris West; 2006 Iain Naylor; 2009, Ian Smith; 20014 Mark Clarke.
Announcement in November 2017. A popular Sevenoaks district golf course is being sold off for property development. Shareholders of Broke Hill said it was “with regret” that they announce they had accepted an offer for the purchase of the land that club occupies off London Road in Halstead.
