Mote Mount Golf Club, London. (1924 - WW2)
The original Mote Mount course was designed by J F Abercrombie, it was reconfigured in 1931 by H S Colt.
Work on preparing the course began in 1924, the course actually opened for play in 1928.

In the late 1920s the address was Mote Mount Golf Club, Coventry Farm, Mill Hill, London NW7. The secretary was A D Stiles, 5 Russell Grove, Mill Hill. The professional was E McInnes and the green-keeper W J Allen. At this time the club had an 18-hole course with a membership of 250. Visitors’ fees on introduction were 2/6 a round, 5/- a day, at weekends and Bank Holiday it was 5/- a round and 10/- a day, 15/- a week, 25/- a fortnight and 35/- a month.
In 1935 the secretary was Capt A F Allport professional E McInnes and greenkeeper R Tickner. Course records were, amateur S J Hine 70 and professional E McInnes 65. 18-holes with another 9 under construction, club membership had increased to 500.

Just prior to WW2 the address was given as 100 Barnet Way, Mill Hill, London NW7. Secretary, professional and green-keeper as 1935. Now listed as having 18-holes and 9-holes with a SSS of 74 and membership of 600. Course records were, amateur C E Hetherington 68 and professional E McInnes 65. Stations at Edgware Tube 1 ½ miles, Harpenden & Dunstable Green Line Coaches passed clubhouse, leaving Victoria and Hyde Park Corner every ½ hour. Visitors fees’ were 3/6d a round.
Mote Mount Golf Club disappeared at the time of WW2. The current club, on the same site, is Mill Hill. Following the war part of the course was lost due to road development resulting in a change to the layout.
