Thanks to Richard Anderson for his help and the following information;” A 9 hole pay and play course designed by Clive D. Smith and measuring 5346 yards Par 68 for twice around. It was to the west of Windlesham Road just off the A319. There was also a driving range attached to the facility. The small clubhouse was demolished for housing development and the course closed in late 2016.
Windlemere was an enjoyable, compact layout, with a long line of tall trees between the 1st and 9th fairways. A hook on the 4th would go out of bounds over a hedge and there was a ditch hazard on the 3rd and 8th holes.
I played the course several times between 1988 and 2002, and the layout and indeed the scorecard design remained identical.”
The following message appeared on the Facebook page on 18 January 2017; “It is with some sadness that we have to announce we are now closed. We would like to thank all our customers for their support and hope you are able to find alternative venues where you can continue to enjoy your golf.”
