Listed as both Portlemouth Golf Club and Salcombe Golf Club at various times.
An excellent 9-hole course at Rickham on the coast near Mill Bay Cove and Prawle Point on the east side of the estuary. The course was a ¼ mile from Salcombe Ferry.
In 1922 the Secretary was F Jordan, Gara Rock, Portlemouth, Salcombe and the professional Reg Bickle (1914 to 1930). Visitors’ fees were 2/- a day, 10/- a week, 15/- a fortnight and 25/- a month.

In the clubs last year in 1940 the secretary was still F Jordan of Gara Rock Hotel, telephone Chivelstone 7. The greenkeeper was T Thorning. Club membership was 75. Course records were, amateur, G A Wadham 76 and professional, R Bickle 70, (these were set in the mid 1920s). Visitors’ fees were 2s a day and 7s/6d a week. Sunday play allowed from July to September without caddies. The railway station at Kingsbridge was 12 miles away.
