Tuckton Golf Club, Christchurch, Dorset. (1960/70s)
Thanks to Mrs Joan Dibley for the following information on Tuckton golf course. “ There was a course at Tuckton Bridge, Christchurch, Dorset on the Bournemouth border. This was owned and run by a Mr Vine who played golf and had many celebrities at tournaments including Bobby Locke. Mr Vince lived in a house on the course, which eventually became the Golfers Arms Pub. It was eventually purchased by Fairway Construction who ran “Tucktonia” a model village and town. It is now been built on with flats for the elderly. It is a very picturesque sight as the River Stour runs alongside into Christchurch Harbour over Tuckton Bridge, which was once a toll bridge”
