Midsomer Norton Golf Club. (1900 - WW1)
The course at Clapton was appearing in the early 1900s.
It was reported in 1914 that the links and club pavilion of the Midsomer Norton Golf Club were formally opened on the evening of the Thursday 23 July at Clandown. There was a large crowd of members and friends to see Mrs John Thatcher hit the opening tee shot. Following the formal opening an exhibition match was played between the club professional, Mr Bush, and his brother, report below.
Nothing further found for the club which probably disappeared due to the onset WW1.
