Frome Golf Centre, Critchill Manor. (1992 - 2015)
The original parkland course was opened in 1992.
The course was re-designed by R Flower in 1994. The layout was extended and many new trees were planted and water hazards/ponds added.

In 2005/6 the secretary was Mrs S Austin, and the professional Lawrence Wilkin. The 18-holes measured 5,527 yards, Par 69, SSS 67.
The closure was announced in September 2015.
Frome Golf Club has closed its doors following the retirement of its owners. The site is reverting to farmland because owner Rick Bird could not find a buyer.
He said: “This was a great little club with a great big heart having had some wonderful results over the years with many members winning county, regional and national competitions. Congratulations to all those involved in making Frome successful over its life. This tough course, will be missed by all members without doubt.”
The following message appeared on the club website. "30th September 2015 is a sad day for members of Frome Golf Club as we see the club close forever. Initially, the news of this very popular club closing was a shock and disappointment to all members, many who have been members of the club for many years, the closure will feel like the loss of a family member. Great friendships have grown and flourished over the years and although there are several other golf courses in the area, none has the heart of this club.
Over many years the course has improved in quality, thanks to the hard work, commitment and dedication of the Greens team, who have regularly presented the course to a very high standard, impressing members and visitors alike. Many have said that this year the course has looked the best it has ever done.
I would like to this opportunity to thank all those who have made my 20+ years at the club such a memorable time, all past and present staff and members alike and I wish you all success in the future and hope that our paths cross again somewhere. Best regards to you all, Rick Bird."
