Sandfields Golf Club, Ardara, Donegal.

The following report is from the Derry Journal Friday 7th April 1899. "A most successful meeting was held in the Nesbitt Arms, Ardara, on Tuesday last to institute a golf club for the district. There was a representative attendance, who entered heartily into the project. The ground, which was laid out by Mr George L Baillie, of Belfast, lies about twenty minutes walk from the town, on the sandfields, which are admirably adapted for the game, the turf being soft and crisp and interspersed with numerous bunkers. A burn meandering through the course has to be crossed several times and affords capital sport. Special arrangements have been made for visitors, who, for a small charge, will be allowed to use the links, and no doubt many golfers in the coming season will avail themselves of the privilege. At Tuesday's meeting General Tredenick of Ardara was elected president; captain - Colonel W Hamilton, Mossville; treasurer -  W H Aderson, Manager, Ulster Bank, Glenties; secretary - Michael McNelis, The Hotel, Ardara."

Disappeared following WW1.
