Carrickmacross Golf Club, Co. Monaghan. (1914 - 1950s)

First appeared just prior to WW1 and was still listed in the late 1950s; although it’s probable that the club had closed prior to this.

The secretary throughout was C Lonergan, telephone number 9 and the green-keeper J Kelly. A 9-hole parkland course with a membership of 40. Visitors’ fees were 1/6 a day and Sunday play was allowed. The railway station at Carrickmacross was 2 miles away. Local hotels were the Shirley Arms and O’Neills.
