Mullingar/County Westmeath Golf Club, Mullingar. (1894 - 1937)
Founded in 1894.
Often called Mullingar, County Westmeath or just Westmeath Golf Club.
The club played over four courses prior to its move to the current location in 1937; First course at Newbrook; Second course at Petitswood in 1902; Third course at Lynn, Lough Ennell in 1909; Fourth course at Lough Owel following WW1.

The earlier Mullingar club played in a one sided club match at Athlone. It was reported that the main reason for the visitors defeat was, not being acquainted with the numerous difficulties of the Athlone links.

It was reported in July 1898 that Mr G A R Wade of Hatherley Brake, intends to give to the Mullingar Golf Club a challenge trophy. It comprises a handsome silver ewer for claret and a pair of beakers en-suite. Each piece is richly hand-chased in special designs embracing the national emblems, and also mounted with modelled figures emblematical of fame and victory. The three pieces are solid silver lined with pure gold, and rest upon ebony pedestals.
In 1902 the club moved to a course at Petitswood.

The competition for the cup presented by Right Hon. Lord Greville was played in May 1910. The winner was J L Harper of the Manchester Regiment.
From the Westmeath Guardian Friday 1 September 1911 - "During the absence on holiday of P J Nooney, Hon. secretary, J S Shannon, the popular captain of last year, will act in his place. He informs us that during the month members will be able to avail themselves to the services of Mr W Crossans, the young professional from Kirkcudbright, who has been here for a few months."

The current club formed in 1935 have played on the James Braid designed course at Belvedere since 1937.
