The course was a popular venue for many golf societies.
The club and course closed in 2004.

It was reported in October 2004 that the members of the Kerries Golf Course near Tralee were to meet in a last ditch effort to save the doomed golf club. The owner had informed the committee that he intended to close the course by the end of the year.
