Glasgow Post Office Golf Club, Greenfield House Course. (1909 - 1930s)
The Greenfield House course was the home of the Glasgow Post Office Golf Club.
From the Glasgow Evening Times Friday 21 October 1910 - "It is only eleven months since the Glasgow Post Office Club acquired ground for the formation of a nine-hole course at Greenfield, Carntyne, and now arrangements are in hand for the extension of the course to eighteen-holes. With a splendid clubhouse and an interesting course the club promises to become one of the most successful near Glasgow".
From The Sportsman Tuesday 3 June 1913 - "The committee of the Post Office Golf Club have made arrangements for the visit of Ray and Duncan to Greenfield on 26 June. This will be Ray's first visit to Glasgow".
The course appeared on maps prior to WW1 and continued into the 1930s.
In the 1930s the club formed a society called the Glasgow Post Office Golfing Society, the club played on various courses. The pictures below shows the society on a visit to Ireland to play the Belfast Post Office Golfing Society.
