Whitecraigs Golf Club, Giffnock, East Renfrewshire. (1905 - WW1)

The club was founded in 1905 and originally played on a course at Giffnock that straddled the railway (see 1913 map below.) 

On Thursday 31st August 1916 an exhibition match was played at Whitecraigs, Giffnock. The players were, R Maccines, the local professional, and John Thorburn of Kilmalcolm.  Tickets were 1/- each, available from Whitecraigs Golf Club. All the proceeds would be given to a fund for wounded soldiers.
