From The Scotsman Wednesday 1 March 1922 - "NEW CLUB FOR BUCHLYVIE - A golf club has been formed at Buchlyvie. The office bearers are; Presidents - Colonel Euing Crawford of Auchentroig and Daniel Fisher of Ballamenoch; Captain, A G Abbie; Vice-captain, William Comming; Secretary and treasurer, J H Clyne, Bank of Scotland, Buchlyvie."
The following is from the Sunday Post 6 August 1922 - "Colonel R Ewing Crawford, Auchentroig, opened a new golf course at Buchlyvie yesterday."
From 1924 the secretary was A Allan, Gateside, Buchlyvie. A 9-hole course with a membership of 60. Record amateur score was 34 (no name recorded). Sunday play was not allowed. The station at Buchlyvie was ½ mile away. Local hotel was the Red Lion.
The winner of the monthly competition in May 1924 was A Shearer; runner-up, J McKenzie.
The winner of the Auchentroig Cup in August 1927 was Edward Harrison.
In the final of the Auchentroig Cup in September 1929 Dr Roderick Macdonald defeated Edward Harrison by 6 and 4.
During the 1930s the secretary was Jas Macpherson, Bank of Scotland, Buchlyvie. Amateur course record now 32 (no name recorded). Visitors’ fees were 1/6d a day and 7/6d a month.
Buchlyvie Golf Club had disappeared by 1940.
