The following message appeared on the club Facebook page on 4 August 2020 - BRUCEFIELDS CLOSURE NOTICE - This update is to notify you that Brucefields Family Golf Centre has ceased trading and will not re-open. Thank you for your support and membership throughout the years.
There are plans to use the land for housing development.
Thanks to Dr Douglas Lockhart who visited the site on Sunday 16 July 2023 and provided the update and images below. The pictures were taken from the Pirnhall Road side of the course. Access is problematic – the fence prevents a close inspection – building works on a series of new housing developments are just about to begin.
Dr Douglas Lockhart paid a further visit to the site on Friday 29 March 2024 and provided the images below. Site preparations for the housing development are well under way. The lower picture shows the former green and tee that were photographed on the first visit, they were in the corner on the right.
