Spean Bridge Golf Club, Highland. (1904 - WW2)
The club was founded in 1904.
The nine-hole course was laid out on the banks of the Spean on land belonging to Captain Walker of Blairour. The club secretay was Mr D Cameron , and the captain Mr J Anderson of The Spean Bridge Hotel.
The course opened in May 1905 with the opening shot being struck by Mrs MacIntyre of The Manse. The weather was fine and there was a good turnout of members and guests to witness Mrs MacIntyre declare the course open, report below.
On Saturday 23 May 1908 Fort William Golf Club visited Spean Bridge Golf Club to play for points in the Inter-Challenge Trophy.

The club reappears in the 1920s.
From the Oban Times August 1926; "Lochaber Sheep Dog Trials - These trials open to bona fide shepherd and tenant farmers in Lochaber, to be held on Spean Bridge Golf Course on Saturday 4 September - Archibald W MacDonald, secretary." The trials took place annually during the 1920/30s.
The current Spean Bridge Golf Club was formed in the 1950s.
