In November 1897 Mr Cruickshank won the silver cup presented to the Advie Golf Club by Mr J E Gordon, M.P.
Entry from the Golfing Annual 1898/99; Advie Golf Club, Instituted 23 August 1896; Entrance Fee 5 shillings, Annual Subscription 5 shillings; Hon. Secretary, W T Norval; The course of nine-holes varying in length from 120 to 240 yards (par 29) is on the Haugh of Delchoy, about a mile from Alvie Station. Hazards are plentiful, and the Spey must be taken into one’s reckoning going to the eighth hole, which is the longest.
